Our organic potato sowing has commenced. We completed land preparation working through the incessant rains and are all set to sow now.
In this part of the country, we grow potato in winters and this is about time to sow. Diseases can be devastating in potato and organic cultivation of potato is very challenging. We have obtained seed of Kufri Pukhraj C-166 from North India, with this variety labelled resistant to early blight and moderately resistant to late blight.

We created ridges, readied manures and applied them along the drip lines. We soaked the seed potato in a mix of Jeevamrutham, bio-fertilizers and bioprotectants to encourage beneficial organisms that provide plant nutrition and to minimize plants being affected by blights and other diseases.
Potato is a crop that requires everyday attention to ensure the crop is safe from pests and diseases, all the more in the first 60 days.
Everything going well, potato tubers should be ready in 90-100 days, and would be stocked on our potato product page.
