Dolichos beans are high in soluble fiber, protein, folate, manganese, copper and other minerals, making them an excellent source of these nutrients. Research suggests the compounds found in them have been demonstrated to increase antioxidant activity and immunity. How to use Broad Beans
Chikkudu that are still young and little can be cooked and eaten whole, similar to peas. If the beans are larger than this, they must be removed from their outer pod before cooking. Chikkudu can be kept in the refrigerator for up to four days. Wash the beans, spread them out on a dry area and let them dry completely before storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Cut pieces of the dolichos bean can also be stored in an air tight container for a few days in the refrigerator.
Sowing typically takes place in July. We plant it through the year at OrganicSiri and are make it available in all seasons.
