Organic Groundnut Oil Cold Pressed

Organic Groundnut Oil – Cold pressed

Can organic groundnut oil be any finer? Grown by us in our own farms organically, harvested & handled hygienically and extracted in a cold press, our peanut oil has a lot going for it.

Groundnut oil is considered a healthy edible oil when consumed in moderation. Rich in unsaturated fats, antioxidants and Vitamin E, it is deemed good for the heart, diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol management. The nutty flavor and neutral taste add depth to dishes and its high smoking point makes it suitable for high heat cooking and frying, albeit not suitable for very high temperatures.

Organic groundnuts are cultivated using practices that make them free of pesticide residues and hence are healthier.

Cold pressed oil extraction is a method where the groundnuts are crushed in a ganuga or ghani to force out the oil purely using physical pressure. This low-heat process retains much of the natural groundnut flavor, taste, antioxidants and nutrients. There is no heating, chemical solvent use or bleaching involved. The oil is left to remain for a couple of days so the sediment settles at the bottom and clear oil stays on top.

At OrganicSiri, we utilize fresh and good quality groundnuts grown organically at our farms for extracting cold pressed oil. So if you were bothered by a rancid smell in groundnut oil in the market, you will see a marked difference with the sweet aroma of our groundnut oil.

But why just mill in small quantities? Well, there are a couple of reasons why we are milling oil only periodically.

1) To keep the oil delivery fresh:

We stock our groundnut produce for consumption as nuts too and produce oil fresh as needed.

2) Pure cold pressed organic oil costs a lot to produce:

A liter of cold pressed organic groundnut oil needs 2.5 – 3 kg of good quality organic groundnuts – this cost itself is higher than the market price of groundnut oil available in the general market. And we are not even adding the cost of oil extraction, packaging and transportation here! The only ways to keep costs low will be to use heat/solvent extraction for higher oil yield, use of low quality nuts or blending with cheaper oils – all of which impact the oil quality. Clearly, our pure cold pressed organic groundnut oil will be a tad pricier and we only cater to those who appreciate these intricacies.

How to order Cold Pressed Oil?

We mill our organic groundnuts periodically and hence it sometimes takes a day or two longer to deliver, just order on the site as usual. While we try and produce groundnuts round the year, oil availability is dependent on our groundnut stocks. If you don’t see oil in stock, just leave us a message and we can tell you when you can expect it again.
